TABLE-TOPIC: Utopia or roadmap?: Why external development studios need to start talking to each other

External development is the backbone of modern game production – yet the studios powering it operate in near-total isolation from each other. This table explores what changes if that flips: shared onboarding pipelines that cut the 1-3 month ramp-up window, a common operational language that directly addresses the fastest-rising friction point in developer partnerships, and collective visibility that raises the floor for the entire sector rather than letting one strong studio’s reputation die with that relationship.

The conversation will also tackle what studios gain from knowing what each other offers- better specialization, less race-to-the-bottom pricing on generic services- and why a united front on contract norms around credits, portfolio rights, and AI disclosure is only achievable at industry level, not studio by studio. Developers and service providers both in the room.
