Sharing details of Level Headed’s deep use of external development, along with other industry anecdotes, this session will highlight the strong benefits and potential pitfalls of external development for smaller projects and studios. As a studio with eight dedicated developers, five of whom live on other continents, Level Headed has experienced greater productivity and deep cost savings by contracting with external studios. But time zone differences, language barriers, and the fluctuating economy don’t always make it easy. Leah will share strategies for overcoming these challenges, and offer insights to help both studios and vendors increase the value these relationships can bring to even small teams.
