XDS 2022 Health and Safety

Last Updated: June 16, 2022

On September 7-9, 2022, we intend to deliver a homecoming XDS event in Vancouver, Canada, not only to bring together a community of external development professionals, but to also celebrate a milestone: the 10th anniversary of the External Development Summit.

Keeping health and safety in mind for all attendees, sponsors, exhibitors and staff; we will work to ensure that XDS complies with Canadian Federal, Provincial and Municipal health standards related to vaccination, masking and testing.

Planning for this year’s event includes actively engaging with key stakeholders including Vancouver Coastal Health and the Provincial Health Office – and we will be guided by their advice to ensure any COVID-19 protocols or recommendations related to indoor events are implemented.

Protocols will meet or exceed these standards, and will be known closer to the date.

Stay tuned to this article as we announce more updates in the coming months.

The following information is current as of April 20, 2022.

To enter Canada, you must:
Be fully vaccinated (at least two doses of a two-dose or one dose vaccination) against COVID-19.

As you plan your travel, please check your individual airlines to confirm any additional COVID-19 protocol for travel. Please refer to the Government of Canada website and the province of British Columbia website for additional information.

*Note: vaccination status in the ArriveCAN app 72 hours before boarding.
**Note: if you arrive without completing this information in the app, you may have to test and quarantine for 14 days, regardless of vaccination status.

Before departing XDS 2022, please be aware of your airline’s and country’s requirements before travelling home.

Onsite Health + Safety Initiatives

Above and beyond following provincial and national COVID-19 safety requirements, we will also be implementing the following health and safety measures at our event to ensure our attendees feel safe. How we implement these measures will be shared at a later date:

  • All attendees must be fully vaccinated
  • Masks are provided as optional for attendees as needed
  • Hand sanitizing stations provided at key points of entry
  • Thorough cleaning of the conference area by hotel staff

If anyone is not feeling well at all, they should not attend XDS 2022. This includes:

  • Exhibiting symptoms of cold flu, or COVID-19
  • Have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within 10 days prior

We look forward to seeing you all in Vancouver! Stay tuned to this article as we release updates regarding COVID-19.
