XDS Delivers 25k of Good Will to Vancouver Non-Profits

The XDS 2018 event was a smash success by bringing 600 industry professionals together to share knowledge, network effectively and build communities of practice.

This holiday season we are grateful to be able to donate a total of $25,000 to two very import Vancouver-based organizations.

Directions Youth Services

Directions Youth Services is a division of Family Services of Greater Vancouver that provides support to at-risk, homeless, or street-involved youth under 25. Resources are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They provide safe spaces for youth to connect with supports, detox from substances, and access transitional to short-term housing.

The monies donated from XDS to Directions Youth Services went toward purchasing 5 brand new iMac workstations for video and audio recording. These computers will provide their clients an opportunity to connect, to accept support, and to be inspired.

Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon

It is Make-A-Wish’s mandate to grant exceptional wishes to children in need internationally. Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon is a chapter part of the largest wish-granting organization in the world, making dreams and wishes come true for more than 450,000 children since 1980.

XDS provided a donation that allowed the granting of a wish to a critically ill cancer patient who asked for photography equipment to allow him to one day become a professional photographer. The wish included a high-end digital camera, Mac laptop, editing software and photography lessons. The youth was absolutely thrilled, and his mom reported she had not seen a bigger smile on his face in a long time!
